Sanity o’ sanity! Europeans eat the same foods as Americans and don’t get disease – why? less stress, slow, enjoyable eating, more vacation time, better quality of life.
Now even our abundance gurus seem to be racing after money; the ‘easy’ money on the web means always marketing yourself on social media & keeping up with the fast changing pace of the web…
Abundance means realizing you are complete and just accepting your unique self, & things come your way, in nature’s time, while you are developing community – I mean local socializing. Living, loving, in tune with nature – moderation of work, food, play…play becomes work with the right people, right causes (eg, fair trade, organic, holistic).
Finding your God-given talents, the things you love to do, having positive-minded friends helping point out your gifts and supporting them economically…how cool a life is that? Niche, yes indeed, and nature…and uniqueness – be your authentic self and all you ever imagined and more begin to come your way.
The money-minded love making money…fine, more power to them. Most people I know love hanging with friends who support their uniqueness. And that makes all the difference – inner wealth precedes outer wealth. Caring for self, friends, community, and the global community, nature, nourishing your spirit & sharing your unique gifts is the best first step because you find you are living your goal from day one.
Today we had a ‘Near May Day Celebration’ because it was when John finished his extra work. So he could finally relax & decompress, and we just communed with nature. The land brings so much peace, and the views made you stop and sit and lie down and enjoy the beauty and silence and the natural conversations that arose out of the silence.
David moved in and out of personal and group conversation. So nice to be so free.
Pot luck lunch – the first lettuce crop from John’s organic garden & his hummus; David’s tofu salad dressing. I supplied the rotis, ghee and homemade ice cream. Sat by the stream and gave such thanks for everything, the stream, the people, and prayed for earth healing too. Honestly, we ate ‘celebration’; it became a noun; something that danced on our tongues. It was a unique experience. Time to time we spoke of work, my comics, John’s fair trade handicrafts & his farm, teaching yoga & meditation. It all fit naturally into the celebration mode and at nature’s pace.
The best day of my life (I say this a lot, and its true)
