Finding Gold in a Down Economy

Just talking with some folks yesterday about how we can see opportunity in this economic ‘correction’. If we are to live seeing the best in each situation, then we must apply it to all experiences including economic challenges.

To be clear, this is not a wish for a ‘bad’ economy, it is a ‘how can I grow the most/benefit the most – spiritually, socially, health-wise and economically during a so-called ‘bad’ or ‘down’ economy (or in every and all situations).

People tell us more millionaires were made during the Great Depression. Others are showing us where the money is to be made. Still others are showing how personal character and spiritual growth have the most potential to grow now.

The philosopher Niche said, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.

It’s easy to espouse platitudes when things are going well. Now is the time to apply these ideas to the reality at hand.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says to be even in sad/happy; win/lose; pain/pleasure. He says the life is meant to serve humanity with love, and not rush after the results of the work. So now we have that opportunity to guide our life safely, calmly, and directly through the troubled waters and prove we can and do live like this – that our inner joy and creativity, in fact our financial success – all comes from within.

Look at an apple tree – I have about 40 on my land – it’s all wood. Cut it open…wood. Roots to branch tips…wood. So where does the apple come from?

We are like the apple tree – whether we say we are all anything – somehow we produce that which we cannot see – love, creativity, economic success, etc.

So now rather than saying, we have to ‘wait and see’;
rather than listening to the people who promised this condition is not happening
become proactive
Use  your harmony thoughts
Visit your visions
and ask
“How can I survive & thrive in this economic situation?”

When we ask for positive answers – we are let to positive answers

Here’s as postive a site as I have seen – this blog inspired my blog

  • Hi there!

I write the blog at seeinggood.com. I’m excited to see it inspired your excellent post about the economy. I love this part: “So now we have that opportunity to guide our life safely, calmly, and directly through the troubled waters and prove we can and do live like this – that our inner joy and creativity, in fact our financial success – all comes from within.” Such a beautiful sentiment. Thank you for offering these thoughts. I look forward to reading more!

Yes, the opportunity to live what we talk about – action speaks louder than words – is most exciting. With all the material achievements being reached and people say they are feeling emptier than ever, now is the time for ‘invisible’ spirit to be seen and lived and honored as the truth in that it is ever-present (while the material world is ever changing – we ran after the changing illusions) – the ability to be free from external ‘bad’ times helps one be spiritually liberated.

The #1 benefit of this correction is many people will experience great spiritual liberation.
